Seven local elected officials from Brown County today endorsed Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins in her re-election bid for the 2nd Congressional District against State Senator Dennis Pyle in the August Republican Primary. Pyle is a native of Hiawatha.

Those endorsing Jenkins include:

Brown County Commissioner Keith Olsen

Horton Mayor Tim Lentz

Hiawatha City Commissioner Vicki Denton

Horton City Commissioner Wade Edwards

Horton City Commissioner Ken Krug

Fairview City Commissioner Roland Brees

Fairview City Commissioner Dale Cooper

Jenkins stated, “These endorsements add further strength to the grassroots campaign we have run. City commissioners, mayors, and county commissioners are the elected officials closest to the people. I will continue to count on their advice and counsel as I serve in Congress."

These elected officials join a growing list of endorsements for Jenkins' re-election campaign including U.S Senators Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts, U.S Congressmen Jerry Moran and Todd Tiahrt, 8 State Senators representing the 2nd District, 14 State Representatives representing the 2nd District, the NRA, Kansas Farm Bureau, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, REALTORS PAC, the American Conservative Union, as well as national conservative leaders, Congressman Mike Pence and Congressman Jeff Flake.
