Kelsey Suspends Campaign: Kansas State Senator Dick Kelsey, who was running for outgoing Rep. Todd Tiahrt's U.S. House seat, has suspended his campaign. Kelsey attributed the decision on family health issues. He had been endorsed by former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
Dems Learn National Security Talk: House Democrats are taking classes on "how to talk about national security" since most polls show the American people trust Republican more when it comes to national defense and security. NRCC Communicationd Director Ken Spain said, "“The fact that Democrats have to train their own candidates on how to
talk about defending America is an indictment not just of their
candidates but of their policies, as well."
Rahm's Temper: Outgoing House Democrat Congressman Eric Massa says Rahm Emanuel is pushing him out of Congress because of refusing to vote for the massive health care bill. Massa said Emanuel would "would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive."
Supreme Court Hears Phelps' Case: The United States Supreme Court will hear the case from a grieving father whose son died in Iraq and whose funeral was protested by Fred Phelps and his following. The case will determine whether or not the protestors' speech is protected by the First Amendment.
The Blame Game: One of President Obama's top advisors, Valerie Jarrett, says the Administration "inherited a mess", trying to downplay criticism from Republicans, Democrats, and Independents that Obama's agenda has gone off course. Fewer and fewer Americans are buying into the "Blame Bush" excuse.
Kasich Leads Strickland: Republican candidate for governor in Ohio, John Kasich, leads Democrat incumbent Ted Strickland by 11 points in the latest Rasmussen poll. Those not affiliated with either party favor Kasich 60-22 percent.
